ABOUT EMILY
My name is Emily Brandland and I’ve been playing basketball since I was 4 years old. I have 2 biological brothers, one older and one younger. My family is also currently fostering four children between ages 3 and 11. We’ve been able to care for well over a dozen children in the past four years and they have taught me countless lessons on life and the importance of family. I have always been a multi sport, year-round athlete. I have been playing soccer, basketball, and softball for my high school’s varsity teams since I was a freshman. I have also played beach volleyball, rugby, and I wrestled my 8th grade year. While I enjoy staying busy and the variety of the other sports, basketball is my passion. When in Junior High, I would go outside and practice and I would pretend that I was a freshman starter for the High School varsity. When that goal became a reality, I replaced with another goal. I want to play collegiate basketball at the highest level possible. In my free time I like to read, bake, hang out with friends, and go to church. I like Skittles and hot Cheetos. My parents have always stressed school before sports and I have been able to maintain a 3.8 GPA through high school. I’m looking forward to a great season with a fun group of Hoopstar!
