ABOUT MARIAH
Hi my name is Mariah Gonzalez. I am currently a freshman at Lynden High School. I have lived in Lynden my whole life. I am the youngest in my family. I have two amazing sisters and wonderfully supportive mom and dad. I started playing basketball when I was 10 years old in the fifth grade. I played with a traveling AAU team for 4 years, and along the way starting playing on summer teams with HoopStar. I love playing basketball, it is my favorite thing to do. I was not born with the natural talent some players have, but through hard work and alot of practice I am proud of the player I have become. My favorite saying is “Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard”. My favorite move is a spin and hook shot. I love the NBA and my favorite players are Steph Curry and Dywane Wade. Some of my other favorite things are listening to country music and hanging out with my friends. My family means so much to me my sisters are my best friends and I love my parents very much, they support me so much and can not thank them enough for all they do for me. My great-grandpa means the world to me even though he can’t come to all my games he is in my heart when I play and want to make him proud.
