ABOUT EMMALEE
Hi, my name is Emmalee Bailey! I am a freshman at Lynden Christian High School, and I love to play basketball, volleyball, the piano, and be with friends. After high school, I plan to go to college to be a doctor or nurse.
Basketball has always been my passion since day 1, starting back in first grade. I grew up in an athletic family, always getting carted along to games or meets for my siblings. It was fun to watch them, but it made me want to join in on the fun too! I started out in YMCA basketball, then I moved on to LYS basketball in 3rd and 4th grade, and finally I started AAU in 5th grade. In 4th grade I set a goal for myself to play varsity basketball my freshman year at Lynden Christian, and this year I met that goal! I started out the year on the JV team, but I was not satisfied. I worked hard all season, often getting to practice with the varsity, but not suit up. Towards the end of the regular season, I was told I was a part of the varsity squad and I would be going to the State Tournament with them. There was nothing more rewarding than hearing my name at the State Tournament being announced over the loud speakers. I was extremely blessed to be apart of winning a 1A State Championship Title for LC this year, which set the tone for the rest of my career. My goals as a player are to win another state championship(s) and to play at the collegiate level. I work hard on the court and in the classroom, averaging a 4.00 GPA. I have tendencies of being a perfectionist, but through basketball I have learned that you will make mistakes, but it is how you respond to them that matters. I am so excited to play with my Hoopstar team this spring/summer because we all share similar goals/dreams, and we are willing to put in the work to get there.
